On an April morning in 2000 Curtis Jackson was shot nine times while sitting in a parked car. He survived and Jackson, bka 50 Cent, has spent the last 15 years working as one of the hottest rappers in the game. “9 Shots” is his latest track and it’s one of 50’s most personal songs to date chronicling his life from the murder of his mother Sabrina, to his days as an adolescent dealer through the day he nearly lost his life.

50 Cent debuted the track atop the Caroline rooftop as a surprise guest at our Midsummer’s Dream R+B event. Keep an ear out for his forthcoming record Street King Immortal and watch the rooftop video here.
